Joyce Szymanski

Joyce Szymanski is the Service Marketing Manager for US and Canada for GE Healthcare IT. She has more than 25 years of marketing and communication experience specifically in product and services strategy development, product positioning, market segmentation, public relations, and event management.

Prior to joining GE Healthcare, she served as Product Marketing Manager for Global Services for Physio-Control, Inc., a medical device company and former division of Medtronic, in Redmond, Washington.

She developed new professional service products and created marketing programs to drive demand for current service offerings. In her nearly 11 years with Physio-Control, she held the positions of Market Segment Manager, Strategic Communications Manager and Public Relations Manager.

Before joining Physio-Control, she served as Vice President of Healy Communications, a boutique marketing communications agency in Chicago. Joyce worked five years with Chicago-based public relations firm Margie Korshak, Inc. While there, she managed the agency’s largest account—McDonald’s Owners of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. She also supervised the agency’s sports marketing department that included clients such as the Chicago Triathlon and Chicagoland Golden Gloves Boxing.

Before Margie Korshak, Inc., she was Director of Marketing for Barclay Communications in Phoenix. She created the agency’s consumer public relations department and managed accounts such as the Hard Rock Café, Sandusky Broadcasting and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.

Prior to joining Barclay, Joyce was Director of Public Relations for the Harlem Globetrotters. Previously, she was a media relations assistant for the Chicago Bulls. While with the Bulls she coordinated and organized press information for two NBA All-Star Games and three NBA Finals.

Joyce has a B.A. in Communication from Washington State University and is the Past Chair of the university’s Professional Advisory Board for the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication.
